We've taken the original Alden Plain Boot and added a few twists. Now offered in Alden's super soft and supple Snuff suede. We added the Commando sole not only for its great looks but for its added slip resistance and durability.

Wonderful boots but sent me used and damaged boots
The Barrie last is one bomb of a boot. Fits better than any other lace-up boot I’ve worn. I mostly wear Western boots and I really like how the weight balances with the outer edge of the boot. The construction and Janus suede rock. Only problem is that they sent to me used and damaged boots, but I was too eager to put them on and head out before noticing an obvious bald spot on the toe and damaged welt on left boot. Someone tripped on a curb or something. My bad for not inspecting closer upon receipt. Inspect closely—these are expensive boots.
